Live Fish and Sparrows

Live fish fell from the sky on February 26, 2010 in Lajamamu Australia. What would you imagine were the thoughts of those people on that day?  What would you think?  Had the world suddenly gone topsy turvey? Had gravity failed?

I sometimes wonder the same thing when I watch sparrows and finches fall from the sky to the platform feeders in my front yard. They fall like rain, then drift back up as more fall to replace them. Maybe it's more like Christmas snow flakes, you know the huge fluffy ones that bounce rather than landing. The world is full of a number of awesome sights and we need to look to see them all. They are there if we open our eyes. Just like we only hear, all the good there is to hear, or someone's cries for help, or need to be understood,  if we listen, really listen, like a woman would.

Is it because women are nurturers that we have gained this skill to listen and hear what someone is not saying. Can we listen between the lines? Can we interpret, "I now fit into my skinny jeans," without seeing the person?

The progresso commercial sparks many a question in my mind. It is so poignant. My husband gets it...Even though he didn't the first time he saw it. What do you wish someone would hear?
Let's talk, and listen.

Is There A Woman I Can Talk To?

It's about more than fitting into that dress or those skinny jeans as the Progresso soup commercial suggests and if you are a woman you certainly know that is true.

So the guys eyes glaze over and ask us "What does that mean?" *sigh* Well here we will try to explain that as we talk about the issues that matter to us. Let me remind you that listening is a learned skill. = )
